Women in fur coats at a food exhibition, Wilsic, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, 1961. Visitors to a Danish Bacon Company open day looking at the new rotisserie machines from the Rotiss-O-Mat Ltd Company in London. The open day was held for grocers and shop keepers in the Donacster area at Wilsic Cricket Club. Some of the women are seen wearing fur coats which were popular in post war years and seen as a sign of 'doing well'. Their popularity was to decline sharply (particularly in the 1970s) when public opinion turned largely against the wearing of real fur.
