Brampton Parish Church choir singing during a service, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1969. Brampton is situated between Rotherham and Bransley and was affected badly by the closure of Cortonwood Colliery after the Miners' Strike in 1984-1985. Fortunes improved due to investment in the area and the development of light industry and the large concentration of customer service call centres at the nearly Manvers industrial estate.
