Maurice Barres, French journalist, novelist and politician, 1914. An anti-semitic nationalist, Barres (1862-1923) was a supporter of General Georges Boulanger. In the 1890s he became one of the leaders of the anti-Dreyfusards during the Dreyfus Affair.
