Mont Fuji, Japan, c1823 (1956). Titled 'South Wind, Clear Sky', but popularly known as 'Red Fuji', this is one of Hokusai's famous series of 36 woodblock prints, 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji'. From the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. A print from Places, a volume about the origin and early history of many things, common and less common, essential and inessential, by Readers Union, the Grosvenor Press, London, 1956.
