Sands Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 1956. Vintage postcard showing the entrance to the Sands Hotel. The marquee announces Frank Sinatra and Joey Bishop as the current entertainment. A huge sign at the entrance says Sands A Place in the Sun. Designed by Wayne McAllister, the Sands was the seventh hotel and casino to open on the strip. It opened in 1952 and closed in 1996. Today the site is occupied by The Venetian.
