A neon thunderbird sits atop its huge marquee and the name Thunderbird is spelled out in neon on large blue and green panels on the front of the hotel. The Thunderbird resort was the fourth hotel and casino to be built on the Las Vegas Strip. It was open from 1948 until 1992. The Turnberry Place complex occupies the site today.
