Loading a palletising machine with bricks, Whitwick Brickworks, Coalville, Leicestershire, 1963. A worker at the Whitwick Brickworks loading a palletising machine which is used to load the finished brick onto pallets. Whitwick Brickworks was located to the west of Whitwick Colliery. It benefited from the extension to the Leicester-Swannington Railway (London & Northeast Railways) which ran to the east of the colliery. The brickworks closed in the latter part of the 20th century.
