Aquarium, Battery Park, New York City, New York, USA, 1933. Vintage linen postcard showing the aquarium located on the sea wall in Battery Park. New York Harbour and the Statue of Liberty are visible in the background. Battery Park is a 25 acre public park at the southern tip of Manhattan Island. It is named for the artillery battery that used to be stationed there. The New York City Aquarium was housed in Castle Garden, an old fort, from 1896 until 1941.
