Columbus Circle and one of the entrances to Central Park, New York City, New York, USA, 1933. Vintage linen postcard showing Columbus Circle and one of the entrances to Central Park looking east. The New York skyline, and the Sherry, Netherlands and Pierre hotels are visible in the background. Columbus Circle is a trafic circle laid out by William P Eno in 1905. At its centre is a monument designed by Italian sculptor Gaetano Russo which was erected in 1892 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' discovery of America.
