Shops in Bank Street, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, 1963. A photograph taken for the property owners. The shops, which include Leathercraft, selling ladies handbags, Davis Royd of Leeds, a Gentlemen's outfitter and an unnamed greengrocers all vacated some years ago and a domestic appliance repair shop operated from the site until the late 1990s. The shops were extensively redeveloped at great expense during 2008 and a bar was opened in 2009. After attempts were made to convert the bar to a pole-dancing club, its licence was revoked and the bar subsequently closed.
