Duel of the Mignons, 27th April 1578 (1882-1884). The Duel of the Mignons was a re-enactment of an ancient Roman battle fought between two sets of male triplets, the Horatii and the Curiatii. It was fought between two rival French court factions, one supporting King Henry III and the other followers of Henry I, Duke of Guise. Four of the participants were killed in the duel, and another badly wounded.
