The Duke of Orleans on the way to the guillotine, Paris, 6th November 1793 (1882-1884). Louis Philippe II, Duke of Orleans (1747-1793) was an enthusiastic supporter of the French Revolution. In spite of this he was executed during the Reign of Terror. His son, Louis-Philippe, became King of the French after the Revolution of 1830.
