Nuraghe Losa, Sardinia, Italy. The island of Sardinia features unique megalithic edifices known as Nuraghe. Most of them were built in the Bronze Age, between 1500 and 1800 BC. They are considered to be the best preserved megalithic structures in Europe. The use of the nuraghi has not been clearly determined: whether funerary monuments, ordinary dwelling, military strongholds, meeting halls or religious temples. Nuraghe Losa is one of the larger nuraghi in Sardinia. Around it are traces of a nuragic village and wall.
