The Monument of the Eponymous Heroes in the Greek Agora, Athens, Greece. Opposite the Metroon in the Greek Agora is a long narrow rectangular base. On this there once stood statues of the ten eponymous heroes who gave their names to the ten tribes (phylai) into which the population was divided. Here in ancent times new laws were made public.
