Count Zeppelin with his daughter in the gondola of Zeppelin LZ3, Germany, c1906-1908 (1933). LZ3 was the first truly successful Zeppelin. The airship made 45 flights, travelling more than 4000 kilometres, between 1906 and 1908 before being purchased by the army.
