Statue, the Alcazar, Seville, Andalusia, Spain, 2007. The Alcazar is a palace built on the site of Seville's 12th century Moorish palace. Work began during the 14th century for King Pedro of Castile, with Moorish workers giving the building a distinctly Islamic design. Later Spanish monarchs made further additions in both Mudejar and Renaissance styles.
