Arrow slit, Braganca Castle, Portugal, 2009. The fortified nucleus of Braganca was built in the 12th century and was the property of the Benedictine monks of the Castro de Avela Monastery. The castle was rebuilt and reinforced by the late 14th century. The 15th century keep (Torre de Menagem) stands at the centre of the castle.
