Thomas a Becket forbids the Earl of Leicester to pass sentence on him, 1162 (1864). Becket (1118-1170) became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1162. Robert de Beaumont, 2nd Earl of Leicester (1104-1168) was Justiciar of England from 1155 until 1168.
