Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence and Emmeline Pankhurst, British suffragettes, 1908. Emmeline Pethick Lawrence (1867-1954) and Emmeline Pankhurst (1858-1928) were two of the leaders of the Women's Social and Political Union, the organisation founded in 1903 that spearheaded the campaign for women to receive the vote in Britain.
