Jack 'Legs' Diamond, temporarily in the hands of the law in Troy, New York, USA, July 1931. Diamond (1897-1931) was a Prohibition-era Irish-American gangster in New York. He was arrested and charged with kidnapping a man named James Duncan. A few months after this picture was taken he was shot and killed by members of a rival gang after a party to celebrate his acquittal.
