In Throgmorton Street beside the north wall of the London Stock Exchange, 20th century. Photograph taken looking east down Throgmorton Street towards Old Broad Street. On the left is the entrance to Warnford Court, and just beyond it the southern archway of Throgmorton Avenue, which leads into London Wall. The right-hand side of the street is the north wall of the Stock Exchange. Throgmorton Street is said to have received its name from Sir Nicholas Throckmorton or Throgmorton (c1515-1571), who is thought to have possessed property on the site of this street.
