Cardinal Pole, Archbishop of Canterbury, 16th century (1805). Reginald Pole (1500-1558) was the last Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury, holding the office during the Counter-Reformation of the reign of Mary I. He was involved in the persecution of Anglicans. From a painting on board, preserved in the Vestry of Lambeth Palace.
