Sergei Bondarchuk, Russian film director, 1964. Bondarchuk (1920-1994) during the shooting of 'War and Peace'. His adaptation of Tolstoy's novel took seven years to complete and won him an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1968. Found in the collection of The State Central A Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, Moscow.
