White Russian General Anton Denikin mees British Major-General Frederick Poole, Russia, 1918. Denikin (1872-1947) was Commander-in-chief of the White armed forces in southern Russia during the Russian Civil War. Poole was sent to meet Denikin on a fact-finding mission to consider the possibility of sending British troops to assist the Whites. Found in the collection of the State Museum of the Political History of Russia, St. Petersburg.
