Vera Komissarzhevskaya, Russian actress, 1900s. Komissarzhevskaya (1864-1910) was the most celebrated Russian actress at the turn of the 20th century. In 1904 she set up her own theatre, which promoted Symbolism in Russian theatre. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
