Title page of The Book of the Knight of the Tower, c1495(?). Written in the 14th century by an Angevin knight and nobleman, Geoffroy IV de la Tour Landry, the book was a tutorial for his four daughters on how to behave properly when visiting the royal court. The German version was translated in 1495 by Marquard vom Stein, a Swabian nobleman, supposedly for the benefit on his two daughters. Found in the collection of the Russian State Library, Moscow.
