The Battle of Alexander the Great against King Porus, Lubok print, 1830s. Alexander fought against the Indian King Porus at the Battle of the Hydaspes River in 326 BC. Lubok (plural Lubki) prints were Russian popular prints with simple graphics portraying stories derived from literature, religion and popular tales. Found in the collection of the State A. Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow.
