'After the Taking of Malakoff on 8th September 1855', c1855. Fought between the French and the Russians on 7-8 September 1855, the Battle of Malakoff was a part of the Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War. The capture of the Malakoff Tower by the French compelled the Russians to abandon the city to the Allies.
