Minna Moscherosch Schmidt, German-born businesswoman, 1933. Born in Bavaria in 1866, Schmidt was a designer of fancy dress costumes who emigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago, where she built a million-dollar business. She also wrote a book; 400 Outstanding Women of the World and Costumology of Their Time, published in 1933.
