Girard College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, 1937. Vintage linen postcard showing Founder's Hall and the surrounding grounds. Girard College is a private boarding school that opened in 1848. It was financed under provisions contained in the will of the financier Stephen Girard, who was said to be the wealthiest man in the United States when he died in 1831. The building was designed by Thomas Ustick Walter.
