City Hall and Broad Street Station, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, 1926. Vintage linen postcard. Designed by John McArthur, Philadelphia City Hall was built between 1871 and 1901. Between its completion and 1908 it was the tallest habitable building in the world. Broad Street Station was the main passenger terminal of the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1881 until 1952. The original building was greatly expanded by local architect Frank Furness in 1892-1893. It was demolished in 1953.
