Silk Tomb, Petra, Jordan. Petra was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom from 312 BC until it was absorbed into the Roman Empire in 106 AD. The city is best known for its buildings with elaborate facades cut out of the sandstone rock. The Silk Tomb gets its name from the rich colours of the rock on its facade.
