The Art Museum, Forest Park, St Louis, Missouri, USA, 1935. Vintage linen postcard showing the exterior of the Art Museum and the surrounding grounds. The St Louis Art Museum was built for the 1904 World's Fair, held to commemorate the centenary of the Louisiana Purchase. The architect, Cass Gilbert, used the Baths of Caracalla in Rome as the inspiration for his design of the building.
