Lady's headdress, 14th century, (1910). Fashion from the reign of Richard II (1377-1399). The headdress is reticulated, ornamented with goldsmith's work and jewels. The ermine-lined cloak is of green velvet, with a design in gold. A pendant hangs from the gold and jewelled morse. A red velvet fur-edged super cote-hardi is worn over the cote-hardi which is of rich baudekyn. Illustration from British Costume during 19 Centuries by Mrs Charles H Ashdown, (London, 1910).
