Execution at the Tower of London, 1743. Scene depicting the shooting of three members of the Highland Regiment (Black Watch), Samuel McPherson, Malcolm McPherson and Farquhar Shaw, for desertion. The three men were among a number who had deserted fearing that the regiment was about to be sent to America.
