Great Hall of Eltham Palace, Kent, 1792. A washing line, wheelbarrow and some chickens can be seen. Eltham Palace was founded as a medieval royal palace, but fell into disrepair until the ruins were converted into a private house for the Courtauld family in the 1930s. The Great Hall was built in the 15th century during the reign of Edward IV.
