Shinto priests in a funeral procession for victims of the sinking of the 'Hitachi Maru', Tokyo, Japan, 1905. Detail from a stereoscopic card. The 'Hitachi Maru' was a Japanese transport ship sunk on 15 June 1904 by Russian warships while carrying siege howitzers and over 1000 troops to take part in the Siege of Port Arthur during the Russo-Japanese War.
