Grand Duchess Maria Kirillovna of Russia as a child, 1910s. Maria Kirillovna (1907-1951) was the eldest daughter of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich of Russia and Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna. She was born in Coburg, Germany, where her parents were living in exile because their marriage had not been approved by Tsar Nicholas II. The family returned to Russia before the outbreak of the First World War but were forced into exile again by the Russian Revolution. From a private collection.
