Obelisk of Hatshepsut, Karnak, Egypt. The vast temple complex at Karnak evolved over 1300 years from the 16th century BC onwards. In all some 30 pharaohs contributed to the buildings on the site. Queen Hatshepsut reigned with Tuthmosis III between 1479 BC and 1458 BC.
