'The 'Olympia' at Manila', 1898. The US Navy protected cruiser USS 'Olympia' at the Battle of Manila Bay in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War. The 'Olympia' was the flagship of Commodore George Dewey at the battle, the first major engagement of the war, which saw the destruction of the Spanish Pacific Squadron.
