Robert Roberts Hitt, American politician, 1898. Hitt (1834-1906) was a member of the United States House of Representatives representing the state of Illinois from 1882 until his death. In 1898 President William McKinley appointed him a member of the commission created to establish government in the Territory of Hawaii.
