Henry Armstrong, American boxer, 1938. Regarded as one of the greatest fighters in boxing history, Armstrong (1912-1988) won his first world title, at featherweight, in 1937. He went on to win further world championship belts at lightweight and welterweight before retiring in 1945 with a career record of 149 wins, 21 losses and 10 draws.
