Mount Kronos and Temple of Hera, Olympia, Greece, late 19th or early 20th century. The wife of Zeus, Hera was one of the major goddesses of Ancient Greece. The Romans worshipped her as Juno. The Temple of Hera at Olympia, site of the original Olympic Games, is believed to be the earliest surviving example of Doric architecture. It is thought to date from the early 6th century BC. The temple was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century AD. Lantern slide.
