Tower of the Winds, Athens, Greece, late 19th or early 20th century. The Tower of the Winds is an octagonal tower dating from Roman times. It was originally used as a means of telling the time, housing a water clock and being surrounded by nine sundials. The building was used as the bell tower of a Byzantine Church in early Christian times. Lantern slide.
