Agricultural stand at the Royal Show at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, July 1954. Workers take a break whilst building a trade show stand for Crittall Grain Silos. In the background are the Gothic towers of Wollaton hall which was built between 1580 and 1588 by coal mine owner Sir Francis Willoughby and is believed to be designed by the Elizabethan architect Robert Sythson, who was the architect of Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire. Also in the picture, on the right hand side, can be seen an early 1950s Volkswagen barn door pick up truck.
