Wooden ushabti figurine of Mutry, Ancient Egyptian, 16th or 15th century BC. A wooden tomb figure dating from the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt. Ushabti figures were buried with the deceased, for whom they were supposed to act as a substitute should they be required to perform manual labour in the afterlife. Found in the collection of the State Hermitage, St Petersburg.
