'Portrait of Archduchess Maria Magdalena of Austria', 17th century. The youngest daughter of Charles II, Archduke of Inner Austria, Maria Maddalena (1589-1631) married Cosimo II de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1609 until 1621. After her husband's death from tuberculosis, she acted as co-regent during the minority of their son, Grand Duke Ferdinando, together with her mother-in-law, Christina of Lorraine. Found in the collection of the State Museum of History and Art, Serpukhov, Russia.
