Steel, gold and silver helmet with Deesis, Byzantine, 13th century. In Byzantine and later Eastern Orthodox art, the Deesis, is a representation of Christ in Majesty or Christ Pantocrator: enthroned, carrying a book, and flanked by the Virgin Mary and St John the Baptist, sometimes together with other saints and angels. Found in the collection of the State Armoury Chamber in the Kremlin, Moscow.
