'Saint Jerome', late 15th or early 16th century. St Jerome (c342-420) was a leading father of the Christian church. He prepared the first Latin translation of the Bible from Hebrew into Latin, the Vulgate. Found in the collection of the State A Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow.
