'Genevieve of Brabant', 19th century. The medieval legend of Genevieve of Brabant tells how she was wrongly accused of adultery by her husband, the palatine Siegfried, and exiled into the Ardennes forest, where she lived, together with her son, in a cave, fed by a roe deer. Six years later Siegfried, out hunting, recognised her and acknowledged her innocence. Found in the collection of the State M Ciurlionis Art Museum, Kaunas, Lithuania.
